Klopp Plays Down Mane Tantrums In Burnley Win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has played down Sadio Mane’s fit of rage that followed his substitution in Saturday’s 3-0 away win at Burnley.

Mane was visibly enraged and cast a frustrated figure on the bench after coming off for Divock Origi with five minutes left to play.

The Senegalese’s gesticulations suggested that he was unhappy with strike partner Mohamed Salah for failing to pass him the ball on a number of occasions but Klopp was quick to play down the incident after the game.

“Sadio Mané is an emotional guy,” Klopp said after the final whistle. ”We are all individuals. Something went not like he wanted, it is not the substitution.

“He was upset but that’s all. That was obvious. You cannot hide his emotions, I like that, but all sorted. We spoke about it, everything is fine.

“We are individuals, we are emotional. It was a situation in a game, what else could happen? It was not a phone call. It was a situation in the game he was not happy about but that’s completely fine.

“Would he do it exactly the same manner again? Probably not, but it happened. He didn’t say any wrong words, it just looked a little bit different to how he looks usually.

“For me, of course I can understand that’s a little story. Thank God we are now away for a week so if you write something about it we will not read it anyway, and after a week nobody can remember it anymore.

“It’s cool. A good moment to do it. It’s all good really, all fine.”

Liverpool have now won a club-record 13 straight Premier League games in a row stretching back to last season as they lead the table with maximum points after four games.
