The visitors ran riot in West Midlands thanks to debutant Timothy Castagne and Vardy’s second half brace.
Speaking to the media after the game, the former Liverpool and Celtic boss was quick to laud Vardy’s impact in their first victory of the 2020/2021 season.
“Great composure. He's a box player. He’ll never be dropping underneath with bright intricate play but he’s a killer in the box,” Rodgers said when he was asked about the Englishman’s display.
“Whether from a cross or penalty he’s got the eye to score. He never looked like missing."
Rodgers reflected on the Foxes’ win, insisting it was a great game and also praised Castagne for his instant impact.
He added: “It was a good win for us in the end. I thought we were very dominant and good going forward. It's always tough going to a newly promoted team.
"The first half was a bit slow - we didn’t penetrate enough. Once we found our rhythm, we played very well in the second half. We created chances and looked to attack the game.”
"I’ve watched Timothy Castagne for a number of years – he fits the profile of how I want to work. He's fast, non-stop running – he wants to score but he can defend – good composure. He's a brilliant signing for us. He’ll prove to be a really good asset for us."
