Messi will now stay in Barcelona till June 2021 and could possibly leave as a free agent if he refuses to renew his deal.
Inter Milan along with Manchester City and French champions Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen on securing the services of the six-time Ballon d’Or winner but a move to sign Messi could not be possible this summer as no team were eager to defray his €700m release clause.
Buchhioni is adamant that Inter Milan could easily sign Messi next summer when his deal with the Catalans come to an end.
“Messi’s stroke of anger and his ‘I want to leave’ after the 8-2 loss to Bayern, has put the intermediaries who were working to bring the Argentine to Inter next season in difficulty,” Bucchioni explained in his piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
“If he stays in La Liga it will be easier to make him become a Nerazzurri player in a year as he would no longer have a deal with Barcelona.”
“They would only need to pay Messi’s monstrous salary and all his economic bandwagon. It is a possibility that he could be Nerazzurri in July 2021.”
“Inter hopes that Messi will remain at the Blaugrana to continue working to sign him next year.”
