Immobile Commits Long-Term Future To Lazio With New Contract

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has signed a new five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

Immobile has ended any doubts over his future by remaining in Rome until he is 35 after his new deal was made official.

The Italy international was an instrumental figure in Simone Inzaghi’s team last season helping Lazio to secure a top four finish.

Having scored a record-equalling 36 goals in 37 Serie A games last term, the former Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla man won the Capocannoniere for the third time in his career.

The 30-year-old also beat the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo to win the European Golden Shoe.

The Biancocelesti announced the new contract on Monday as communications director Stefano De Martino revealed a new five-year deal to Lazio Style Channel.

“The news today is that Ciro Immobile has committed to Lazio for another five years, until 2025,” he said. “It’s a professional, heartfelt and familiar choice.

“We want to announce it immediately, as the news came only a few hours ago. It’s important because Immobile is followed by the most important teams, as he’s the owner of the Golden Boot.

“Lazio, with this act, underline their desire to cement what we did last season and further improve the squad, a topic which we will update in the coming days.

“With this choice, Immobile opted for Lazio for life. He’s a professional who always wants to improve and certainly wants to raise the bar regarding his personal goals.”

Immobile joined Lazio in 2016, and has since scored 125 goals in 178 games.
