The Uruguay international has been linked with a move back to Serie A after just two seasons in English football.
Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria for a fee around £26m in the summer of 2018, and was one of the Gunners’ best players in his first season.
The 24-year-old finds his future in North London in doubt at the moment due to a combination of injuries and inconsistent performances last season.
Torreira has been heavily linked with a move away from England with Serie A clubs like Fiorentina and Torino all said to be yearning to secure his services.
Bentancur believes Arsenal must decide whether they want to sell his client or keep him for the upcoming season, but insists there are ‘no written offers’ for Torreira yet.
“There are many requests for information, but nothing official yet, so there are no written offers on the table,” Bentancur told Calciomercato.com.
“The player is training with Arsenal, they own him, he is one of the few cases of athletes who arrive in England and immediately play 50 games in a row.
“After a nasty injury, he didn’t require surgery, but the recovery process was still tricky and took a while. Now the coach and Arsenal must work out if they need Torreira or not.”
Bentancur was asked about Torreira’s potential destination when he leaves Arsenal, but the agent remained reticent.
“Football has to be divided into two parts, the sporting and the economic areas. In sporting terms, Torreira is perfect for Torino and he’d reunite with Marco Giampaolo after their time at Sampdoria,” the agent added.
“At the same time, we must be realistic and admit Arsenal will have some very big demands, while Lucas’ salary is also a bit too high for Torino.”
