Sanchez, since joining the Red Devils from Arsenal in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move the opposite way has struggled with form and fitness issues for majority of the 2018/2019 campaign.
Inter Milan will pay €190,000 of Sanchez’s €430,000 weekly salary but the Nerazzurri will not have the option to buy, with Alexis expected to spend 10 months at the San Siro Stadium and will undergo medical on Wednesday.
Despite having a frustrating spell at United last term, Solskjaer previously hinted the former Barcelona player could be an important prospect for the Red Devils in the new season.
“Alexis is such a professional and he comes in working every single day really hard and he wants to be a part of this,” said Solskjaer.
“These stories that he's been put in the reserves? Of course he hasn't, he's part of our squad and he is a really good player.
“He has had three weeks now, so he's a few weeks behind the rest but close to being part of it.
“We don't have the biggest forward line in numbers so Alexis might end up playing a lot more games than you expect because we expect him to come good at this club, he's quality.
“We've had a behind closed doors game, he's training, a little bit of extras.
“He'll be gradually integrated into more playing time, but we'll have more behind closed doors games and with only one (competitive) game a week it's hard to keep players ticking. We are arranging a few of them.”
The former Arsenal man scored 1 goal with three assists in twenty Premier League appearances for Manchester United in the just-ended season.
