Klopp Hints On A Possible Leave From Football After Liverpool Spell

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has disclosed he could take a sabbatical leave from football when his stint with the Reds comes to an end.

The German trainer, whose present contract with the Merseyside club is expected to expire in 2022 is yet to renew his stay with the club.

And having been dragging his feet to pen a new deal, Klopp has revealed a leave from football could be on the cards after he ends his spell with Liverpool.

“It looks like it. Who can now say if he can give it his all in three years’ time?

“If I decide for myself that I can't go on anymore, I'll take a break and in that year I'd have to make a definite decision [if he wants to continue at all].

“I have absolute energy, but I have one problem: I can't to 'a little bit.' I can only do 'all or nothing.

"But the chances are very high that my energy levels will go up again [after a year's break], and that I can then do the job the way I want to.”

Having joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2015, Klopp has had a successful career at Anfield, winning the Champions League trophy with the side last season and also finishing second in the Premier League with 97 points, one point adrift champions Manchester City.

But the 52-year-old is yet to win a Premier League title for the club for the first time in 29 years as they top the table with 9 points after three games, two points ahead title rivals City.

Klopp spent seven years at the Signa Iduna park where he won two league titles and a DFB Pokal trophy, also reaching the Champions League final in 2013.
