The Serie A giants meet the German side in the Europa League quarter-final and Conte is wary of Leverkusen as he thinks they are very dangerous on the counter-attack.
The Italian coach has insisted that Inter Milan should not underestimate their upcoming opponent and must concentrate till the end of the game.
“Bayer Leverkusen are very dangerous on the counter-attack and we’ve got to be wary that we don’t leave open spaces, or they can be lethal,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia during his press conference.
“What we need is unity and trying to play the way we prepared it, both on and off the ball. These matches are often decided by details, so concentration is key.
“I expected our hard work to pay off in the long run. This team has to focus on what it does best, which is play football. That is the dream of every coach.”
Despite Inter Milan being tipped by many to beat Bayer Leverkusen, Conte believes such games have no favourites.
“These are games without favourites, as once you reach the quarter-final and semi-final stage, anything can happen,” he added.
“As I said before the Getafe game, we must prove that we’re worth a place in the semi-final. We proved against Getafe that we were worth the quarters, now we have to do even more.
“We’ve got to be positive, as we work every day to achieve the ultimate objective. We mustn’t end this tournament with regrets, as if we give our all, then we’ll be satisfied.”
