Bale’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been in constant doubt since the return of Zinedine Zidane in March 2019 despite having a contract with Los Blancos until the summer of 2022.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star almost left the Spanish capital last summer after a fallout with Zidane, but a reported move to Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning could not materialize.
Bale has been limited to only 20 matches in all competitions under Zidane this season, but Casemiro is adamant that the Wales international is still one of Real Madrid’s key players despite being on the fringes.
The Brazilian ace told Esporte Interativo on Bale: “He’s working.
“He knows it’s not the best time in his career, but he has our support, that of the coach and of the club.”
“He’s very important for us, he can spring a surprise at any time and he’s already shown that. He’s a decisive player who scores goals in Champions League finals.”
“We have to be honest and say that he’s not at his best, but when he is he’s incredible and in the top three in the world. I have a lot of love for him and that’s why I try to take care of him as much as I can.”
Bale was the most expensive signing when he joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
He has since scored 105 goals in 251 appearances for Madrid, winning four Champions Leagues and two La Ligas.
