Reports have been rife in England that Chelsea are mulling over a potential move to sign West Ham United’s prized asset Rice and Gomes, who is reluctant to a sign new contract at Old Trafford.
Lampard was speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea’s visit to face London rivals West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The former Derby County boss posited that the 19-year-old is not on Chelsea’s radar.
“I can elaborate to the point that it’s never been mentioned at my end, so that’s it,” Lampard said.
The English coach was asked about Rice, who has always been touted as one of Chelsea’s admirers, but Lampard was coy about the former Chelsea academy player.
“Declan Rice is a good player you’re right, and I’ve known him for a long time, he was in the Chelsea academy.”
“But there’s no talk, I keep saying, about every player we’ll be asked about.”
Lampard admitted Chelsea are looking to bolster their squad this summer but nothing is known till the season finishes.
The 42-year-old concluded: “Until these games and this season is finished, there’s nothing to say.”
