Referee Appointments Confirmed For Premier League’s Resumption

The Premier League is almost back. 100 days after a ball was last kicked in the English top flight, Aston Villa will take on high-flying Sheffield United and Manchester City will host Arsenal on Wednesday.

Ahead of the league’s resumption the Premier League has released a list of officials who will be taking charge of the various games this weekend.

Arguably the biggest game this weekend takes place at Goodison Park, where Liverpool can take a step closer to their first league title in three decades, with referee Mike Dean in charge.

Jose Mourinho’s reunion with Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium will see referee Jonathan Moss take charge of proceedings.

Kevin Friend will be in the middle for Norwich City against Southampton while Watford versus Leicester City will be officiated by Craig Pawson.

Brighton against Arsenal will feature Martin Atkinson and West Ham United’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers will be handled by Anthony Taylor while Stuart Atwell will officiate Bournemouth’s home game with Crystal Palace.

Chelsea’s first game back from the coronavirus-enforced break at Aston Villa on Sunday, will be handled by Paul Tierney while David Coote will handle Newcastle United versus Sheffield United.

Andre Marriner takes charge of the last game of the weekend between Manchester City and Burnley on Monday.

Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor have already been appointed to take charge of Wednesday’s games between Aston Villa and Sheffield United and Man City against Arsenal respectively.
