Hazard joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in a mammoth €100 million deal last summer but has struggled to hit his usual heights at the Santiago Bernabeu due to injuries.
The former Lille forward has featured only 15 times for the Los Blancos in all competitions and has found the back of the net once.
Martinez has jumped to the defense of the Belgium superstar and insists Hazard will come good at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I think Eden’s situation has been very clear. He’s missed over 20 games,” the former Everton and Wigan Athletic boss told beIN Sports.
“In eight seasons at Chelsea, he missed 18 games, so there is a degree of bad luck.”
“Eden hasn’t been able to do his job.”
“Has he failed? No, and now is not the moment to judge him.”
“Whenever he finishes his time at Real Madrid, then he can look back and rate his performance and his role.”
“If you ask me, I think Eden Hazard will be a massive, massive player for Real Madrid.
La Liga is scheduled to start again on June 11, with Hazard’s Real Madrid aiming to usurp bitter rivals Barcelona, who lead the league table with a two-point advantage.
