Mbappe had another successful season in the French league where he was handed the golden boot, despite the early ending of the Ligue 1 season due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mbappe has scored an impressive 90 goals in 120 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain since his big move from Monaco in 2017 and is now considered as one of the best players in football.
The 21-year-old has been tipped to leave France this summer, with many top clubs in Europe, notably Real Madrid and Liverpool showing interest to sign the 2018 World Cup winner.
Mbappe sparked speculations over a possible move to Anfield when he recently aired his admiration for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp during an interview.
Sagnol believes the chance of working under Klopp, who he thinks is one of the best coaches in the world, could take Mbappe’s game to another level.
The former Bayern Munich defender told SportBild: “This club [Liverpool] has a big advantage.
"With Klopp you have a coach with whom every player in the world would like to work.
"Mbappe would have to adjust under him. He demands a lot of defensive work from his strikers, which Mbappe is not yet good at.
"But he can learn that, especially from a guy like Klopp. No question.
"Mbappe could become a king with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool."
