‘Fantastic’ Liverpool Deserve Premier League Title, Says Giggs

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has admitted Liverpool deserve to win the Premier League title despite the coronavirus crisis.

Giggs, who is currently the national team coach of Wales has branded Jurgen Klopp’s men as fantastic and admits he hopes his side play like the Reds.

Liverpool have been ruthless this season as they currently sit 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and are gunning for their first league title in 30 years.

Prior to Watford’s seismic win against Liverpool in February, the Merseyside-based club went a whole year without tasting defeat in the league.

Giggs has lauded Liverpool’s rapid rise to the top and says they deserve the league even though it is hard to admit as a Manchester United man.

"With the obvious pause in the season because of Covid-19, I think there's a lot of questions still to be answered," Giggs said.

"But I think what we have seen this year is Liverpool are a fantastic team, managed by a great coach Jurgen Klopp and, it pains me to say it as a United fan, but they have been fantastic this season.”

"Obviously they'll go on and, whatever way it is, they'll win the league and deserve it. They've had two brilliant seasons actually, last year pushing Man City all the way. They're a great team to watch.”

"There were certain things that I've taken out of the way that Liverpool play, and taking it on to the way that I want to do with Wales.”

Giggs holds the United appearance record after representing the club 963 times between 1990 and 2014, and won 13 league titles and two Champions League trophies.
