Mane missed the whole of Liverpool’s pre-season programme and also sat out the Community Shield loss to Manchester City as he recuperated from a grueling summer after starring for Senegal in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost 1-0 to Algeria in the final.
The 27-year-old only returned to training last Monday but appeared for the final 16 minutes as Liverpool swept aside newly promoted Norwich City 4-1 in their Premier League opener last Friday.
Mane is poised to start his first game of the season for the European champions against Europa League holders Chelsea at the Vodafone Arena on Wednesday, and ahead of the game last season’s Premier League joint top scorer has ruled out any suggestions of tiredness.
"I think I am ready. Tiredness I think is here [pointing to his head]," he said at a news conference on the eve of Wednesday's match.
"For sure I have been playing for a long time. I don't think I've had a holiday of more than 20 days in seven years.
"I'm used to it. For sure, I'm ready. I'm here. Let's do it!"
Liverpool will be looking to win the UEFA Super Cup for the first time since 2005, when a Djibril Cisse brace ensured a 3-1 victory over CSKA Moscow at the Stade Louis II in Monaco.
The Reds will be without influential goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who sustained a calf injury in their Premier League opener against Norwich City.
