Hazard joined the La Liga giants from Chelsea in a blockbuster €100 million deal last summer but has struggled to hit his usual heights at the Santiago Bernabeu due to injuries.
The Belgium superstar has featured only 15 times for the Los Blancos in all competitions and has found the back of the net once.
Despite Hazard’s poor start to life in the Spanish capital, Martinez believes the former Lille man will learn the ropes and find his feet.
In the wake of extending his contract as the head coach of Belgium, the former Wigan Athletic and Everton boss spoke to Spanish outlet Cadena Ser and has backed Hazard to make a mark in La Liga by winning the Ballon d’Or.
“He can totally win the Ballon d’Or with Real Madrid, without a doubt,” the 46-year-old said.
“Sometimes it takes a difficult start at your new club to give everything you have inside and understand what it means to play in a great club like Real Madrid.”
“Eden does not miss games, he lost 18 games with Chelsea in eight years and this has been circumstantial.”
“I think Real Madrid fans are confident that he will bring many successes.”
