Manchester United started the 2019/2020 season poorly but have rediscovered their winning mentality after mounting an eleven-game unbeaten run.
The English football is slated to return around June and the Englishman says his team-mates are hungry to mount another impressive run.
Lingard told ESPN: “I feel like we can. I've spoken to a lot of the lads and everyone is training hard. We're all on the same training programme and we're all ready and waiting to go. It's a slow process.
“We've got to keep ticking over and maintain our fitness so when we do go back we can get off to a flying start and pick up where we left off.”
The 27-year-old has admitted he misses football but believes the game should only be back when it is safe to play and has entreated footballers to take the right steps to make everyone safe.
“I think it's about taking the right steps and the right procedures, just to make sure that everyone is safe,” the Manchester United academy graduate added.
The Red Devils sit fifth in the current Premier League standings with 45 points and are three points away from Frank Lampard’s Chelsea who sit fourth.
