Kante was one of Conte’s first signings during the Italian's first season at Stamford Bridge. He joined the Blues in a £30 million deal from Leicester City following a successful first season in England where he helped the Foxes win their first league title.
The Frenchman quickly became one of Chelsea’s lynchpins and fans’ favourite with his industry and athleticism.
Kante has since played over 160 games for Chelsea in all competitions, winning one Premier League title, one FA Cup and one Europa League trophy and scoring 11 goals in the process.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Conte has revealed that the presence of Kante made it seem like Chelsea had 12 men on the pitch.
"In my opinion, he can play in every position in midfield. We are talking about an amazing player, a top player," the former Juventus boss said.
"He is amazing with and without the ball. When you have N'Golo in your team, you can think you are playing with one player more.”
"You can find a smile on his face every day. He is a very positive guy. He is one of the best players I have had in my career as a coach."
Conte was sacked by Chelsea after just two years following a palpable discord with the board and was replaced by fellow countryman Maurizio Sarri, who eventually left after a topsy-turvy season with the West Londoners.
