Danny Rose Voices Concerns Over Premier League Return Amid Coronavirus Crisis

Newcastle United defender Danny Rose has expressed his discontent with the possible return of the Premier League in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

The UK government have given the green light for English football authorities to resume its season despite having over 223,000 confirmed cases with the death toll rising to 32,000 per official health reports on May 11.

Premier League clubs held further talks with league officials on Monday, thrashing out plans on how to get the remaining 92 games completed.

The on loan Tottenham Hotspur defender is far from impressed with 'Project Restart' initiative, while stating the fact that health takes precedence over football.

In an interview on Instagram live, Rose slammed the authorities who are calling for football to resume and insists the game should only be back when there is a significant reduction in Covid-19 cases.

"The government is saying we are bringing football back because it is going to boost the nation's morale," the Englishman said.

"I don't give a f*ck about the nation's morale. People's lives are at risk. Football shouldn't even be spoken about coming back until the numbers have dropped massively.”

"It's b*llocks. We'll see. I'm supposed to be tested on Friday, so we will just have to wait and see.”

"I didn't even listen to the announcement [on Sunday] - no football until June 1 or something.”

“I don't even pay attention to any of that. I'm sad people are getting sick and being affected but football should be the last of things that needs to get sorted."
