Having been a breakout star this season, Haaland joined Dortmund in the January transfer window after a superb first half of the season with Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
Haaland scored 28 goals in 22 appearances, eight of which came in the 2019-20 Champions League group stages.
The 19-year-old has hit the ground running in Germany, having already netted twelve in his first eleven games for the Black and Yellows.
In an interview live on Instagram with Corriere della Sera, Vieri praised Haaland for choosing to play for the Bundesliga outfit as he thinks it is the right club for his development.
"Haaland is the strongest of all and has done well to choose Borussia Dortmund, the best club to enhance his talents.”
“In a couple of years he will go to a great team for €200m (£175m), maybe €300m (£262m)."
The Italian knows what it is to be the best striker in the world as he played alongside Brazil legend Luis Ronaldo during his time in Inter Milan, and he still believes his longtime friend is the best striker of all-time.
He added: “For me, the best center forward of all-time is O Fenomeno, he was out of this world.”
“Together we spent three fantastic years. He ran faster with the ball than the defender would without it.”
