Jorginho’s Agent Hints At New Chelsea Deal Amid Juventus Interest

Jorginho’s Agent Hints At New Chelsea Deal Amid Juventus Interest

Agent Joao Santos has hinted his client Jorginho could extend his stay at Stamford Bridge despite reported interest from Juventus.

Jorginho signed for the Premier League outfit on a five-year deal from Napoli during the summer of 2018, teaming up with old boss Maurizio Sarri in joining Chelsea.

During his first season in England, the Brazilian born Italian endured a torrid campaign as he was booed by angry fans due to his closeness with Sarri as the coach struggled to churn out the desired results consistently.

Jorginho was heavily linked with a move to Juventus last summer to reunite with Sarri, who returned to Serie A, but anything of that sort could not materialize.

The 28-year-old has been a joy to watch since Frank Lampard took over as Chelsea manager, and was named vice club captain by the English coach due to his leadership qualities.

Responding to the Juventus rumours, Santos has admitted he was not approached by either Juventus or Sarri and insists his client could renew his contract with the West Londoners.

“I read that, but I never had contact with them,” the agent said.

“Neither Sarri, nor [Juve’s chief football officer] Fabio Paratici called me to have information on Jorginho.

“As of today, I know absolutely nothing about this situation. The lad is very happy in London, where he is proving his worth and still has three years left on his contract.

“In fact, in July there’s the possibility we can start talks to add a fourth and extend his contract with Chelsea.

“I don’t know what Juve’s transfer strategy is, but these are our plans for the future.”
