Griezmann joined Barcelona last summer from Atletico Madrid after five successful years with the Rojiblancos.
Despite scoring 14 goals in 37 games in all competitions for the Spanish champions this season, the 2018 World Cup winner’s start to life at Barcelona has not gone entirely as planned.
The questions surrounding his arrival at the Camp Nou remain unanswered, which include where he would fit into the team.
With the future of Aubameyang at Arsenal still in doubt, Barcelona has been linked to the Gabonese striker this summer.
Rivaldo has insisted that good players are always linked to Barcelona, but his former side must always be sure if their prospects fit into their current system.
“Barcelona always looks for the best players available in the market and Aubameyang is obviously a great player who could be a boost for the club.”
“But other than simply signing a player, Barcelona must study if a certain player will fit into their current system.”
“Or the transfer could end up forcing the new player to play in a different role, harming his own performance and potentially causing the team problems as well.”
“It isn’t just the taste of the president and board that should decide this kind of stuff.”
The Brazilian believes Griezmann will come good at Camp Nou as he still has faith in the former Real Sociedad man.
“There are growing rumors about a potential Antoine Griezmann.”
“A transfer to Internazionale in exchange for Lautaro Martinez or even a deal that could see the Frenchman go to PSG and Neymar come the other way.”
“But I believe that Barca’s board will give Griezmann more time to make an impression at the club.”
“Barcelona just needs to be a little more patient before he builds more confidence and starts playing with more personality.”
