Lautaro Ideal For Barcelona, Says Former Blaugrana

Former Spain striker Juan Antonio Pizzi believes Lautaro Martinez is Barcelona’s ideal striker amid interest from the La Liga outfit.

The Argentina international has been tipped with a move away from San Siro, with big clubs in Europe on alert to sign him.

According to the reports in the media, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are in pole position to secure his services.

Pizzi has insisted that the 22-year-old has the innate talent to play the Barcelona way and thinks he is the answer to the Catalan’s goal-scoring prayers.

“Lautaro Martinez more than Kun Aguero is the prototype of the new forward that would fit Barca,” former Barcelona forward said.

“He already proved what he can do with Argentina, with Racing and Inter. He seems the ideal striker for the way Barcelona play their football.

“Even in one of the toughest leagues in the world, in Italy, he has still been able to play at a very high level.”

Martinez has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world since he moved to Europe from South America in the summer of 2018.

He was signed by Inter Milan on a five-year deal from Argentine Superliga outfit Racing Club in for a fee around €22.7 million.

Martinez has scored 16 goals in 31 games for the Nerazzurri so far this season, having established a lethal partnership with Romelu Lukaku.
