Ex-Man United Defender Admits It Would Be Great If Liverpool Are Denied The League Title

Former Manchester United defender Rafael has admitted it would be great if Liverpool are denied the Premier League title due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

Liverpool have been unplayable in the  2019-2020 season as they currently sit 25 points clear at the top of the league table, and are six points away from winning their first league title in 30 years.

The rapid spread of coronavirus across Europe has halted sporting activities which includes football. The Premier League has been suspended indefinitely, with the FA confirming that football will only be back when it is safe to play.

Many have called for the league to be voided as they think health takes precedence over football.

Rafael says it would be great if Jurgen Klopp’s men are denied the chance of winning their first Premier League title.

"I always say that when you get to 20 [Premier League titles] and you pass Liverpool was the best feeling,” the Brazilian told MUTV

“Everybody’s talking about how they’ve stopped the competition now [and they may not] go to 20 now, it will be hard for them, great for us! But that was my best moment."

Rafael together with his twin brother joined Manchester United from their boyhood club Fluminense in January 2008.

He played for the Red Devils for seven years before moving to France to play for Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.
