The German fullback believes Sane would have arrived at Bayern long ago if he delights in making a move from the Premier League.
Sane has been viewed as the perfect replacement for departed Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery, who all end their stay at the club after the 2018/19 Bundesliga season.
With Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling being Guardiola's first decisions in the wide positions during the treble-winning season, Sane endured a limited playing time.
And to seek more first-team opportunities, Sane was reportedly angling for a return to Germany after refusing to renew his contract with the Citizens.
But Kimmich insists he is in the dark of the speculations surrounding Sane's move to Bayern Munich when quizzed if the left winger will join them this summer.
"I do not know what the signals are," Kimmich told reporters after Bayern's 6-1 Audi Cup win over Fenerbahce.
"I guess the club would like to sign him.
"If Leroy wanted to, he would probably already be here, so I do not know what the state of affairs is.
“You read something from time to time, then you read something else.
"I have no idea. I'll only hear it from you [reporters], what you write. The president [Uli Hoeness] does not come into the dressing room saying, 'hey, listen to me, we want Sane'."
