The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted the footballing calendar across Europe and many players in the final years of their contract will be torn between completing the season at their current clubs or moving on to another.
With the Premier League resumption period extended to May, Willian could remain at the Bridge beyond the expiration of his contract.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk star is desperate to stay in London and is angling for a new three-year deal at Chelsea but the club have only offered a two-year contract to the 31-year-old.
Despite the deadlock in contract negotiations, Willian is bent on repaying the faith Chelsea have shown him over the last seven years and would have no qualms completing the season with Frank Lampard’s men.
'My contract really ends I think in July,' he told Brazilian TV channel Esporte Interativo on a live Facebook chat.
'And if I had to play on those dates, in these months, I think it would be no problem for me to end the league in a way which would be loyal to the club, as they always were with me. Regardless of a signed paper.
'But it's clear that this is not a certainty, we don't know what can happen.
'But without a doubt, as always, I will always be ready to give the best to my club regardless of my contract situation.'
Willian has made 37 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals.
Willian has won two Premier League titles, one League Cup, one FA Cup and the Europa League during his time in London.
