The Ligue 1 outfit defied the odds and stuck to their guns to stun Juventus by a solitary first half goal from Lucas Tousart.
Aouar was satisfied with the result but insists Lyon will have to produce their best performance in Turin if they want to qualify for the next round.
“Before the match, we heard that we were not favourites, and rightly so. But we always believed that we could destabilize this Juve team and do much better,” the Frenchman told RMC Sport after the game.
“We did it, we had a very good game but there is a second game, we mustn't get excited, nothing has been done yet. “
“We are not going to go there as a victim, we are going to produce our game. We are going to go there with a lot of confidence and desire.”
Aouar has been in form this season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in 34 matches across all competitions for Les Gones.
Next up for Aouar and Lyon is a home league game against Saint-Etienne on Sunday
