Solskjaer Demands Fans Backing For Pogba

Solskjaer Demands Fans Backing For Pogba

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjer has urged the fans to be behind Paul Pobga in the 2019/20 season.

The French midfielder was heavily criticised by the United faithful for his performances in the 2018/19 season.

But the former Juventus player completed last term as the highest scorer for the side and also recorded more assists than any other player in the squad.

Hinting of a new challenge elsewhere in June, the 26-year old has become a subject of speculation linking him to his former side Juventus and Real Madrid.

With his comment irritating some section of the United fans, Solskjaer, who previously promised the midfielder of a new challenge at the Old Trafford next season, has pleaded to the fans to rally their support behind the World Cup winner in the upcoming season for the betterment of the club.

"I think our fans know what Paul has given the club and what he can give us," Solskjaer told a news conference ahead of United's International Champions Cup clash with Tottenham on Thursday.

"Of course there is a loud small minority.

"Paul has been absolute top in the group. Me and the players will testify to that.

"He's never ever been a problem. We’re just grateful when he performs as well as he does."

Spending three years at the Theatre of Dreams, Pogba joined the Red Devils in 2016 after completing his mega-money move of €105 million (£89.3 million), then a world record.

Pogba recorded 13 goals with nine assists in the Premier League as Manchester United finished sixth on the league log last season.
