The Rojiblancos’ encounter against Leganes ended in a goalless draw after a nerve-shredding game at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
Atletico Madrid are winless in their last four games in all competitions and have been knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Segunda B side Cultural Leonesa.
Despite the Madrid-based team’s recent slump, Simeone said the fans should be positive as he is working to arrest the club’s poor run of form.
"I can't say anything to the fans, [as] we must prove ourselves with actions and not with words," the Argentine coach said after the game.
"[We can regain our confidence] first with work, looking for solutions and making decisions."
“I am always thinking about my team.”
“Sometimes I cannot sleep thinking about the line-up for a final or because we lost. Or, when I do not know which player to choose that will be better for the team.”
“Atletico Madrid is my life. The people who know me know that. We will keep the same path, with enthusiasm and passion.”
He added: “As coach, I have to look for the best [solutions] for the team. “We have an important week to regain calm."
“I have a strong squad and some guys will recover to get more competition inside [the team] and go out on Saturday with enthusiasm to win the game [against Real Madrid]."
