Sergio Aguero, fresh from a record-breaking hattrick against Aston Villa last time out, nearly grabbed the headlines once again with two goals against Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium but a late own goal by Fernandinho saw Roy Hodgson’s men snatch a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Arsenal had to contend for a point on their own patch as Sheffield United held the Gunners to a 1-1 draw. John Fleck’s second half equaliser cancelled out Gabriel Martinelli’s opener.
Brighton and Hove Albion’s game against Aston Villa also ended in a 1-1 draw. Leandro Trossard and Jack Grealish traded goals for both sides.
West Ham United and Everton also drew 1-1 at the London Stadium with all goals coming in the first half. Issa Diop’s 40th minute opener for the hosts only lasted for four minutes before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
Norwich earned their first league win since late November against a struggling Bournemouth side at Carrow Road. Both sides finished with ten men after Steve Cook and Ben Godfrey saw red but Teemu Pukki’s penalty separated the two sides.
Wolverhampton Wanderers produced a stunning fightback to come from two goals down to win 3-2 against in-form Southampton at the Saint Mary’s Stadium. Raul Jimenez’s second half brace helped Wolves move level on points with fifth placed Manchester United.
