The visitors were left frustrated by Watford in a game where Mourinho felt VAR should have sent Etienne Capoue off after his tackle on Japhet Tanganga.
Tottenham were millimeters away from snatching a late win when Eric Lamela’s effort was hooked off the goal line by the Watford defence.
Speaking to BT Sports after the game, the Portuguese tactician said goal-line technology does not make mistakes unlike VAR, and they have to be content with the decision.
"I know it was only a couple of millimetres but goal-line technology does not make mistakes like VAR. We have to accept it was not a goal,” the former Chelsea and Manchester United head coach said.
The 56-year old was not entirely happy with his team’s performance, but he pointed out to the fact that they were without their first team striker Harry Kane, who is out till April due to injury.
"We played very well. We started the game without a striker but with lots of offensive players.”
“We had the control of the game, especially in the first half, we arrived in dangerous positions, we created chances but we did not manage to score.”
Despite Tottenham Hotspur’s toothless display against the Hornets, Mourinho revealed he is satisfied with his team’s commitment and insists a defeat would have been unfair to them.
“I am happy with how we played, our commitment. I think the result is unfair, I think it would have been more unfair if we lost. We are not good at adapting to this style of football. We were quite difficult to play."
