The Argentine made a move to the Ligue 1 outfit last summer after falling out with his employers which eventually led to stripping of his Inter Milan captaincy.
On transfer deadline day, Icardi’s wife and agent struck a deal with Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan deal for her client, with the Parisians having the option to buy.
In the wake of his hat-trick in PSG’s 6-1 over St-Etienne in the Coupe de la Ligue game on Wednesday, the 26-year-old has expressed his desire to stay at Parc des Princes beyond his current deal.
“I feel very good in Paris,” the former Sampdoria forward told reporters.
“I have not spoken to the club yet, but there are still four or five months left of the season.”
“When the season is over in May, we will sit down and talk.”
“If I have a chance to stay, I will be happy.”
Icardi has been in fine form for Paris Saint Germain so far, scoring 17 goals in just 19 appearances this season.
Next up for Icardi and Thomas Tuchel’s men is a home game against rivals Monaco on Sunday.
The team from the French capital will be hoping to extend their winning streak in all competitions to nine matches, a run with started after their 2-2 draw against Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage game back in November.
