Chelsea academy graduate Callum Hudson-Odoi got the West Londoners off to a flyer on the 6th minute mark before Ross Barkley doubled the Blues’ advantage a few minutes to halftime.
It was a welcome win for Lampard, whose side had lost three of their past four home games in the Premier League.
After the game, the English tactician admitted that playing games of this type is not a cakewalk, but feels Chelsea should have created and scored more.
"These games are not easy. When they make changes it does not mean it's an easier game,” the 41-year-old said.
"We got our two goals and it was very comfortable but did we push on from that and create and score more goals? No, we didn't and I would've liked to have scored some more.
Lampard singled out the performance of Hudson-Odoi who was a threat going forward throughout the game.
"I was particularly pleased for Callum [Hudson-Odoi], he has had a bad injury, is getting himself fit and getting sharper.”
“His goal was an early settler for us. There were performances around the pitch that were good and we need that."
Next up for Chelsea is a home game against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
