Wendie Renard Appeals For Help After Losing FIFA Trophy On Train

French women’s national team central defender Wendie Renard is appealing for help after the trophy she received for appearing in the 2019 FIFA FIFPro Women’s World 11 went missing on a train.

The 29-year-old was travelling from Paris to Lyon on Thursday when her suitcase containing the trophy was misplaced.

The suitcase actually contained two trophies, another from French Football, and when Renard made her way back to the train station, officials were able to retrieve it for her.

However, she could only find one of her two trophies in the suitcase.

Renard, who is a six-time UEFA Champions League winner with the Olympique Lyon women’s team, has taken to social media to appeal for a return of the missing trophy.

She described her mishap in a message posted on Twitter: “Yesterday, I took the Paris-Lyon train at 9:56 am (nonstop) and I arrived at 12 pm at Part-Dieu station. Unfortunately for me, I forgot my cabin suitcase and in it I had my trophies (France Football and The Best). I realized this forgetfulness once I got home. So I left in the direction of Perrache station “.

“The reception desk gave me the suitcase, but inside there was no longer The Best trophy. For my part, I did the necessary. But I count on the staff of the SNCF of Perrache to help me find the trophy.”

Renard helped France to reach the quarterfinals of the 2019 Women’s World Cup on home soil before losing to eventual champions USA.

She has won 118 caps for the French national team and came sixth in the 2019 Ballon d’or standings.
