Mason Keen On Tottenham Job For The Long Term

Ryan Mason has expressed interest in taking the Tottenham Hotspurs managers job on a full time basis.

Mason was placed in interim charge earlier this week after Cristian Stellini was sacked following the 6-1 thrashing by Newcastle United over the weekend.

It is the second time Mason has had to lead Spurs on a temporary basis after he led the side when Jose Mourinho was sacked in April 2021.

Mason will lead affairs from the dugout for the first time when Manchester United come visiting on Thursday.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann but Mason has thrown his hat in the ring to lead his former side for the long term.

"Naturally I feel comfortable, it's just part of being involved in football. You have to be ready and I am ready. I don't doubt that," Mason told the Telegraph.

"I’m ready and if that [full-time] situation happens it obviously means I have done a good job, but that is obviously in the future of four, five, six weeks’ time,'' stated Mason.

"I understand that relationship has wavered recently but there's no doubt we need them and want them on board, and hopefully Thursday they can feel us. I hate when we lose like our players and fans and we know that in recent weeks or month, it hasn’t been good enough of what we expected and like I said, football can change quickly and I hope we can put in the performance to forget that," illustrated Mason.
