Gundogan's contract with the Premier League champions expires at the end of this season and he has not yet reached an agreement regarding an extension.
Reports have been rife this week that the 31-year-old is bound for the Camp Nou at the end of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
But Gundogan has denied any agreement has been reached and is instead focused on finishing the season strongly with Pep Guardiola's side.
He said: "My future is not yet decided. Sure, there are talks in the background. But I won't go into details now.
"I am happy at Manchester City and fighting to win titles. I am also very happy to be the captain of this team."
He added: "You have to wait [to find out about his future]."
Gundogan has featured 294 times for Man City since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2016, scoring 54 goals and providing 38 assists.
Gundogan has won four Premier League titles, four League Cups and one FA Cup since signing for the Citizens.
