Hugo Lloris Back In Spurs Fold After Knee Injury Layoff

Tottenham Hotspurs have received a timely boost with the news that captain Hugo Lloris has returned to first team training.

Lloris has missed Tottenham's last nine matches since suffering a knee injury in a 1-0 win over Manchester City on February 5.

Fraser Forster has stepped in for the former France goalkeeper over the period of absence but Spurs have been knocked out of the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, and face a fight to secure a top four position.

Spurs have also had a change of manager since Lloris last played for the club, with Cristian Stellini now in charge for the rest of the season after Antonio Conte was sacked.

Tottenham are in action against Everton on Monday, and while Lloris is available again, Stellini revealed other players are battling for a return to full fitness.

"Hugo is training," Stellini told Spurs' website on Thursday. "It's a week where he has trained with the team.

"We had a training match where we could let Hugo feel the pitch again. We will recover Hugo, but we have problems with other players.

"This is football. We have injured players, but we also believe in all the players.

"We have a big squad; we also have young players ready, and we trust in them, like we trusted Pape Sarr and Oliver Skipp when they started to play. Young players are involved in our squad and if we need them, they are ready to play."
