Messi says his desire to hoist the biggest prize in European club football once again remains the same as he prepares to begin his journey in French Ligue 1.
He ended his two-decade ties with Barcelona earlier this month when it became obvious that the Blaugrana does not possess the requisite wherewithal to renew Messi’s contract after his initial deal ended in June.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner joined the Parisians on a two-year contract with the option of extending it for another year.
In an interview with beIN Sports, the 34-year-old outlined the goals he has set his eyes on with his new team.
"I believe PSG are prepared to fight once again having come very close in recent years. I have the same dream and desire to win another Champions League," the La Masia product said.
"Hopefully I can do whatever is necessary so that we can achieve that goal which is something that would mean a lot to the club, to me personally and to the fans."
Messi was further asked about his early life in the French capital and the Argentine admitted it was ‘crazy’ when the news first broke that he was coming to France.
"To be honest it was crazy. From the moment the statement came out, people were flooding the streets without knowing I would be coming here since nothing had then been confirmed," he said.
"It is my first experience outside of Barcelona, having been there for so long and to experience this is crazy. I'm just enjoying every minute and very excited to start."
