Gueye Cools Down PSG Exit Rumours

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye has shut down rumours of a potential exit from the Parc des Princes.

The 30-year-old Senegal international joined the French champions from Everton last summer for £30m but he has been linked with a return to England, with Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly interested in his services.

Gueye has been a mainstay in the PSG midfield on his return to France, making 31 appearances in all competitions as Thomas Tuchel’s side retained the Ligue 1 title and have also advanced to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.

The former Lille midfielder says he has grown accustomed to the exit rumours but will not be leaving for a return to England.

"I'm used to these rumours. For each transfer window, it's like that for me," Gueye told Emedia.

"Even in January, six months after I arrived at PSG, I was already linked to Chelsea, so I'm used to it.

"Everything is going well for me at the club, and I am often in contact with the sporting director [Leonardo] and there was never any question of a departure. He never spoke to me about transfers or letting me go.

"So, to me, these are just rumours in the transfer market because there isn't much happening at the moment."
