Man Utd Issue Response To Explosive Ronaldo Interview

Manchester United have issued a statement in response to Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he took aim at the club and manager Erik Ten Hag.

Ronaldo revealed in the interview that senior figures at the club have tried to force him out and he has no respect for Ten Hag, whom he has had a frosty relationship with.

A statement released by United in response to the interview read: "Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.

"The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.

"Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans."

Last month, Ronaldo refused to be introduced as a late substitute in a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspurs and was subsequently left out of the side in their next game at Chelsea.

Ronaldo has only started four league matches this season, with his more younger colleagues preferred to lead the line.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo will play for Manchester United again as club duties take a back seat for the start of the FIFA World Cup.
