Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed his departure from Los Angeles Galaxy following the expiration of his contract.

The former Sweden international joined the Major League Soccer outfit from Manchester United in March 2018 and has scored 52 goals and 17 assists in 56 league appearances since joining the Los Angeles based team.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star man took to his twitter account on Wednesday to announce the end of his MLS journey.

“I came, I saw, I conquered. Thank you LA Galaxy for making me feel alive again,” Ibrahimovic wrote.

“To the Galaxy fans - you wanted Zlatan, I gave you Zlatan. You are welcome, the story continues...Now go back to watch baseball.”

LA Galaxy confirmed his departure in a brief statement thanking the controversial player for his contributions to the club and the league.

The Statement reads: “we would like to thank Zlatan for his contributions to the LA Galaxy and Major League Soccer.”

“Since his arrival in 2018, Zlatan has positively influenced the sport of soccer in Los Angeles. We are grateful for his work ethic and passion.”

“We thank Zlatan for his professionalism and immeasurable impact on the Los Angeles community and the soccer community in North America as a whole.”

Before his move to America, Ibrahimovic previously played for Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Milan, Barcelona, Inter, Juventus, Ajax and Malmo.

The Swede has been heavily linked with a move back to Europe with clubs like Napoli and Ac Milan reportedly interested in signing him.
