Salah's future at the club has become a major concern for Jurgen Klopp’s side as the former AS Roma forward was linked with a move away from England.
With the Egyptian's current deal expected to expire in 2023, Salah has since been in a contract negotiation with the Anfield outfit but the Reds have so far failed to agree terms with the forward.
Salah claims he would want to end his career at Liverpool but added that his future remains out of his hands.
“It does not depend with me. If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football [career], but I can't say much, it's not in my hands,” he told Sky Sports, ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester United.
“It depends on what the club wants, not what depends with me.
"At the moment, I can't see myself ever playing against Liverpool, that would make me sad.
“It's hard, I don't want to talk about it. It would make me really sad, at the moment, I don't see myself against Liverpool but let's see what happens in the future."
Salah is enjoying a bright start to the season, scoring 12 goals in 11 games across all competitions this term.
Liverpool are second with 18 points on the Premier League table, one point behind table-toppers Chelsea.
