Rashford's Return A Boost For Man United, Says Paddy Crerand

Former Manchester United player Paddy Crerand believes the return of Marcus Rashford from injury is a big boost for the club.

Rashford underwent a surgery on a long-term shoulder problem during the summer.

The injury saw Rashford missing Man United's opening 10 matches of the campaign but returned to action against Leicester City on Saturday, announcing his presence with a goal.

Feeling happy to see Rashford playing again, Paddy is confident the England international will bring something special to the squad.

“It’s terrific to have Marcus back and, hopefully, he’ll be on the bench at least. Every game is so important over the next few weeks that he’ll be desperate to get involved as soon as possible.

“He’d been doing so well, Marcus, and there’s nothing worse than getting an injury when things are going well for you. Some players do look fresher when they come back from injury.

“I always love it when people say footballers ‘get to have a rest’ – they don’t want a rest! But it can help. It’s your mind you need to rest, rather than your fitness standard, really.

“You’re under pressure every game you play at Manchester United. I don’t think people realise the pressure of playing for this club. If you’re injured, you’re out of that pressure for a while. Hopefully, Marcus will benefit from that mental break.

“We have a lot of big games coming up, and you need all your big players fit for them because you have to win these games if you want to win things, as we do here at United.”
