“I’m Just Trying To Enjoy The Moment’ – Jorginho Unconcerned With Ballon D’or Talks

Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho has insisted he is not currently thinking about the Ballon d’Or.

Jorginho says he is trying to enjoy the moment as he prefers the media to talk about his chances of winning the golden ball instead of him thinking about it.

The Italian shot himself into the Ballon d’Or conversation when he helped Chelsea win the Champions League in May and also became a winner in the Euros with Italy.

The 29-year-old followed it with winning the Super Cup with the Blues last month and ended up hoisting the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award.

Jorginho has been tipped to be part of this year’s Ballon d’Or together with other candidates like Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

The former Napoli and Hellas Verona man says he will let others worry about his chances of winning the most coveted individual trophy.

“I will let you talk about the Ballon d’Or, I am just trying to enjoy the moment,” said Jorginho in his press conference while on international duty with the Azzurri.

“There are still a few months to go before that decision is made and I am focused on relishing the present, then we’ll see what happens…”

Jorginho was asked if he intends to see out the rest of his career at Stamford Bridge, a question he considered somewhat premature.

“I have no offers and I am not really thinking about it, to be honest. I am 29 years old and you are asking me where I’ll end my career, I want to play until 40! If they sign me to a 10-year contract…”
