Parlour labels Dyche as a very good coach and thinks he has what it takes to do a better job than what Mikel Arteta is currently doing in North London.
Arteta has once again come to the spotlight for the wrong reason following Arsenal’s opening day defeat at Brentford last week.
Many Arsenal fans are afraid that Arteta cannot improve the team this season and record a better finish than the back-to-back eighth place finishes they endured in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons.
The Spanish coach is said to be close to being dismissed if the team move in the same direction and Parlour, who played for the Gunners between 1992 and 2004 has urged them to replace Arteta with Dyche.
“Why not? I don’t know if they will go down that road but if Arsenal said to me Sean Dyche was the next manager, then good,” Parlour said about Dyche replacing Arteta on talkSPORT.
“We’d get behind him and see how we do. How do we know until he gets an opportunity? I’m surprised that some clubs haven’t given him one and said, ‘let’s get Sean Dyche in’.”
He added: “We know what he’s done at Burnley is unbelievable. He does a great job every season.”
Dyche replaced Eddie Howe almost nine years ago at the Turf Moor and has since guided Burnley back to the Premier League on two occasions. Since winning promotion in 2016, he has kept the club in the English top-flight each season.
