Locatelli Says Goodbye To Sassuolo After Juventus Move

Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli has sent an emotional goodbye message to Sassuolo and its fans after completing a move to Juventus.

The 23-year-old signed an initial loan deal with an obligation for the Bianconeri to buy for €35m in the summer 2022.

Locatelli had a wonderful time at Mapei Stadium especially last season where he played 34 times in Serie A for Sassuolo and ended the summer on a high by winning the Euros with Italy.

The Italian has been with Sassuolo since the summer of 2019 when he joined permanently from AC Milan after he impressed the Black and Greens during his loan spell in the 2018/2019 season.

“What to say. The tears I had on Tuesday when saying goodbye to the squad are proof you are in my heart. You always will be, because you made me become a better person and player,” he told the media after joining Juventus.

“Life is made of choices and it was the right time to say goodbye after you accompanied me on this wonderful journey. It has not been easy, you know that, but once you overcome the difficulties, the result is extraordinary.

“You are my family, you took me to winning the Euros. I will always love you. Thank you from the depths of my heart to the Squinzi family, who showed belief in me. Thank you to all the teammates who, between a telling off and a speech, made me a man.

“Thank you to director Carnevali, Giovanni Rossi and coach De Zerbi, for whom I will always feel something special. Thank you to all from Fofo to every person who works in this oasis of joy. I love you all so much. Arrivederci, Sassuolo.”
