Manchester United will go head-to-head with leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday as the visitors look to cement their place at the top of the table.
Liverpool have gone 30 years without hoisting the top flight in England but they came agonizingly close to breaking that duck last season before being pipped to the title by Manchester City on the final day of the campaign.
The Red Devils on the other hand have not won the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season in charge and their wait for a top flight crown could extend into a seventh season by the time this campaign concludes as they are 15 points behind Sunday’s opponents after eight games.
Despite their dwindling fortunes in recent seasons, Solskjaer does not envisage it will take Manchester United as much as three decades before they can win another league title.
"Manchester United will bounce back and win the league," Solskjaer told reporters.
"We might have to wait a while but I'm sure it is not going to be 30 years before the next title."
Liverpool’s inability to win the league last season, which they lost to Manchester City by a single point, was largely attributed to their draw at Old Trafford and the Reds will be looking to take away all three points this time round to extend a 17-game winning streak.
