Ginola Tells Levy To Entice Kane To Stay By Signing Good Players

Former France winger David Ginola has urged Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy to acquire top players this summer in order to convince Harry Kane to stay.

Ginola believes Kane will only stay in North London if he sees the club matching his ambition by spending money on new arrivals this summer.

The England superstar was absent from Spurs’ training ground as expected early last week in a reported attempt to leave the club.

Kane later released a statement quashing those claims that he went AWOL to force a move away from the club.

The 28-year-old has made his intention of leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium clear and Premier League champions Manchester City are said to be his favourite destination.

Ginola, who made 127 appearances in a three-year spell with Tottenham, believes Kane could only be enticed if the club buy good players this summer.

“For Harry Kane, it is a very simple question; would I want to stay and make Spurs great?” the Frenchman said.

“That’s another question. It is a huge task for Daniel Levy because the fans are waiting for the decision and hopefully, the decision will be for Harry Kane to stay at the club.

“If you want to win trophies, you have to keep the best players and invest in other players to be a strong team.

“You need to do that with Harry Kane; he is the captain, one of the main figures, one of the best strikers in the world.

“Because of that, you need to keep Harry Kane at the club. For that, you have to spend money.

“It is very simple actually.”
