Wilshere Admits Frustration In Finding New Club

Jack Wilshere has admitted he is finding it difficult in finding a new club.

Wilshere is currently a free agent after leaving Bournemouth at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

Wilshere made 17 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals after joining Bournemouth on a short-term contract in January but that was not enough to secure a permanent stay at the Vitality Stadium.

The Premier League gets underway on Friday while the Championship started last week, but Wilshere is still without a club.

“I’ve actually had a good pre-season. I’ve been training with a club just to keep myself fit. I’m in a good place, physically. I’m 29," Wilshere told talkSPORT.

“I’m waiting for the right opportunity to come up, to be honest. But, having said that, nothing has come up at the minute and there’s nothing happening.

“I’m just waiting. I don’t really know how long I can wait, I don’t really want to wait as long as I did last time when I left West Ham in the summer, and then I didn’t get a club until January when I went to Bournemouth.

“I don’t really want to wait that long [again]. So, hopefully, something will happen sooner rather than later.”

Wilshere has won 34 caps for the England national team but it has been more than four years since his last international appearance.
