Haaland Debunks Rumours Linking Him To Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland has discredited speculations linking him to Chelsea.

The goal-poacher has been a long time target for the Blues and could do anything possible to secure his signature.

But Dortmund after releasing Jadon Sancho to Manchester United are not in the position to sell Haaland at the moment after putting a speculated €175 million price tag on him.

And responding to the rumours, Haaland says there hasn't been a conversation between him and his agent for sometime.

"Before yesterday I hadn't spoken to my agent in a month, so you tell me, there you have the answer," Haaland explained in a press conference.

"I hope they are just rumours, as 175 million euros would be a lot of money for one person.

"I have three years left on my contract; I'm enjoying my time here."

Chelsea are desperate to sign a top class forward going into the new season as a chase for Haaland looks impossible after the declaration by the 21-year-old.

Haaland bulged the net 27 times in twenty-six games with six assists for Dortmund in the Bundesliga last term but will hope to pick up from his previous form in the new season.

Dortmund signed Haaland from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg for a reported fee of €20 million after his exploit in the Champions League caught the eye of the Signal Iduna hierarchy.

If Haaland is to remain in Germany, his buyout clause will be €75 million in the summer of 2022 and that could raise a bidding war between top European clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United among others.
